"The highest-grossing law firms in the country are pursuing two quite different paths to profit, according to a new report: while the 100 biggest earners continue to tightly manage lawyer headcount (ensuring more profit for partners), the next tier of big firms are staffing up in hopes that cost-conscious clients will ultimately send more work their way.
This news comes our way via the American Lawyer, whose June issue examines what the magazine calls the Second Hundred firms, i.e. those ranked #101-200 by revenue, according to the magazine."
It might not be champagne dreams, but a few rounds of sparkling wine might be in order...
