I keep seeing Gov. Jesse Ventura doing the media rounds and shamelessly promoting his upcoming Conspiracy Theory TV show by offensively advocating the meritless position that 9/11 was an inside job orchaestrated by George Bush, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove. Seeing this has made me think to myself, are there some conspiracy theories that do have some merit? I thought it appropriate to unveil my own conspiracy theory, although I feel mine has much more of a basis in reality.
Has anyone heard of the Cloward-Piven Strategy formulated in 1966? From wikipedia:
"...They argued that full enrollment of those eligible for welfare “would produce bureaucratic disruption in welfare agencies and fiscal disruption in local and state governments..." and "The ultimate objective of this strategy—to wipe out poverty by establishing a guaranteed annual income—will be questioned by some. Because the ideal of individual social and economic mobility has deep roots, even activists seem reluctant to call for national programs to eliminate poverty by the outright redistribution of income.”
Ultimately, their strategy was to try and ensure that anyone who could receive government transfer payments did receive them, and that the financial and social stress this would imprint on the American culture would cause the welfare system to collapse. Once the system collapsed, they would focus on the advocacy of a mandated annual income - enforced by a Democrat ruling majority across the country and bureaucratic pay czars.
After reading this, can someone tell me with a straight face that we are NOT heading in this direction? A few points; Democrat majorities in government are looking to change their own rules to pass the $1 trillion healthcare entitlement and buried inside the healthcare bill is a provision making student loans single payer! The govt has spent $2-3 trillion on bailouts of banks and buying automotive companies, and passed a stimulus which politicians are using as a slush fund to help improve their re-election changes! We have a pay czar mandating executive salaries and bonuses! Unions have helped ensure that failing teachers in our public schools cannot be fired and have overwhelmed municipal budgets with their contractually guaranteed pension and healthcare benefits! California, NYC and New Jersey are close to going bankrupt! And today, the US and UK are close to losing their AAA bond rating...
Rush Limbaugh has caught a lot of flak for suggesting that the Obama administration is purposely allowing the economy to go to ruin in order to remake the country in his image. However, I believe he is 100% correct. The progressive movement wants to evolve to the point where government controls everything, including salaries and especially healthcare. Obama has publically excoriated oil, insurance, investment banking, pharmaceuticals, and any other industry turning profits. He has recruited Marxists, such as Van Jones and Cass Sunstein, into his inner circle of czars. He told "Joe the Plumber" that we are all better off when we spread the wealth around. He spent 20 years in the pew of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, listening to racist bile and Christian Marxism. His political career was launched in the living room of pentagon bomber Bill Ayers.
All I am saying is to consider all this and juxtapose this against the economic solutions that you have seen in the past year. I truly believe these progressives want to enact the Cloward-Piven strategy become reality and that President Obama is aiding and abetting this progressive dream.
