The Subsidization of the Energy Industry
Those interested in how the government subsidizes various factions of the energy sector in the US could do a lot worse than reading Gary Becker's concise piece on the topic on The Becker-Posner Blog. Mr. Becker describes how various sources, including domestic oil, are subsidized, what some alternatives to the status quo might be, and how changing subsidies in the future could benefit the energy infrastructure of the US, all with a nod to environmental concerns.
