In news that is about a week old a group of scientists working with the World Health Organization has placed cell phones into the 'possibly carcinogenic' category. So should our readers stop checking the site from their mobiles? Maybe not yet. Other items in the 'possibly carcinogenic' category include pickles and coffee. While there is some evidence that cell phone use may present a threat, their near ubiquity in many parts of the world mean that this gray-shaded report is highly unlikely to impact usage or sales. However, the report is not entirely useless; if the waffling category the products were placed in leads to more research providing a definitive answer either way, it will prove to be a useful tool for regulators and manufacturers alike.
